Modern Slavery Statement


This statement applies to Alfendo Ltd T/A JTA (referred to in this statement as 'the Organisation'). The information included in the statement refers to the financial year 2021/2022


JTA Head Office is based in Birmingham 70% of our workforce are based at the Head Office in Birmingham, 2% based in an office in Peterborough and the remaining 18% of the workforce are based from their home address, across different locations in the UK. The organisation is controlled by the Chairman and CEO

Our home workers are based in the following locations East Midlands, Shropshire, East of England, North and Northeast of England and West Yorkshire.

The main activity carried out by the organisation is the sale of travel arrangements to UK based Travel arrangements. This includes the sale of flights, hotels, transfers, cruises, and other ground arrangements. We have support departments which include aftersales, accounts, product and marketing departments Demand for our product is consistently high throughout the year and therefore not seasonal.

The labour supplied to JTA in pursuance of its operation is carried out in West Midlands, East Midlands, Shropshire, East of England, North and North East of England, Channel Islands, South West of England and West Yorkshire.


The Group considers that modern slavery encompasses:

  • Human trafficking
  • Forced work, through mental or physical threat
  • Being owned or controlled by an employer through mental or physical abuse of the threat of abuse
  • Being dehumanised, treated as a commodity, or being bought or sold as property,
  • Being physically constrained or to have restriction placed on freedom of movement.


JTA acknowledges its responsibilities in relation to tackling modern slavery and commits to complying with the provisions in the Modern Slavery Act 2015. JTA understands that this requires an ongoing review of both its internal practices in relation to its labour force and, additionally, its supply chains.

JTA does not enter into business with any other organisation, in the United Kingdom or abroad, which knowingly supports or is found to involve itself in slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour.

No labour provided to JTA in the pursuance of the provision of its own services is obtained by means of slavery or human trafficking. The Organisation strictly adheres to the minimum standards required in relation to its responsibilities under relevant employment legislation in UK & Spain and in many cases exceeds those minimums in relation to its employees.


To fulfil its activities, JTA main supply chains include those related to the supply of travel arrangements from various suppliers in the UK. Our supply chain consists of Airlines, bed banks hoteliers, transfer providers and cruise companies.

We understand that the JTA first-tier suppliers are intermediary traders and therefore have contractual relationships with lower-tier suppliers.


JTA considers its main exposure to the risk of slavery and human trafficking to exist in its ground arrangement supply chain, which includes hoteliers and transfers because they involve the provision of labour in a country where protection against breaches of human rights may be limited

In general, JTA considers its exposure to slavery/human trafficking to be relatively limited. Nonetheless, it has taken steps to ensure that such practices do not take place in its business nor the business of any organisation that supplies goods and/or services to it.


JTA carries out due diligence processes in relation to ensuring slavery and/or human trafficking does not take place in its organisation or supply chains, including conducting a review of the controls of its suppliers.

JTA has not, to its knowledge, conducted any business with another organisation which has been found to have involved itself with modern slavery

In accordance with section 54(4) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, JTA has taken the following steps to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place:

reviewing our supplier contracts and include termination powers in the event that the supplier is, or is suspected, to be involved in modern slavery we operate a whistle blowing policy for our employees which encourages the reporting of any wrongdoing, which extends to human rights violations like modern slavery. All reports will be fully investigated, and appropriate remedial action taken


JTA has set the following key performance indicators to measure its effectiveness in ensuring modern slavery is not taking place in the JTA or its supply chains.

  • Integration of human trafficking caveats and terms into all our supplier agreements
  • Robust recruitment process to ensure that appropriate checks are made
  • Ensure that staff responsible for supplier relationships aware of legislation

JTA has a Slavery Compliance Officer, to whom all concerns regarding modern slavery should be addressed, and who will then undertake relevant action with regard to the JTA's obligations in this regard

This statement is made in pursuance of Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and will be reviewed for each financial year.
